Rev. Billie Joe Tallent, age 77 of Knoxville, went home to be with the Lord March 9, 2010. Member of Outreach Baptist Church. He was a Baptist Evangelist Minster for 54 years, and has led many souls to the Lord. Veteran of The United States Air Force serving during the Korean Conflict. He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Preceded in death by: son: Bill Marvin Tallent, father: Fred Tallent, mother: Marie Duncan, brother: Jim Tallent, son-in-law: Curtis Ward, Sr. and great granddaughter: Kailey Sikes. Survivors: beloved wife of 56 years: Rosemary Tallent, daughter: Mitzi Jolene Ward, son and daughter-in-law: David and Kathy Tallent, grandchildren: Curtis, Kimberly, Timothy and Heather, great grandchildren: Matthew, Kaitlynn, Cameron, Talan, John and Andrew and a host of friends and loved ones. The family would like to give a special thanks to nurses: Cheryl and Dewayne. Service 7:30 pm Thursday at Glen Oaks Baptist Church, Rev. Charlie Reynolds, Rev. Ronnie Dotson and Rev. J.R. McMahan officiating. Family and friends will meet 12:45 Friday at Lynnhurst Cemetery for interment service at 1pm. Family will receive friends 5-7:30 pm Thursday at Glen Oaks Baptist Church.
