Ruth Monday Vineyard, age 95, born Nov. 15, 1914, went to her heavenly home on Feb. 1, 2010 at Ft. Sanders Regional Hospital. She was preceded in death by husband, Jack Vineyard. She never went to bed without reading her Bible. She was one of the first residents of Broadway Towers, 25 years, and continued to live there independently until a year ago. She loved to play bingo and called for the Broadway residents for 18 years. She spent the last year at Hillcrest West. Survived by sons, Tom Vineyard (Pat) and Ray Vineyard (Helen) both of Knoxville. Jack Vineyard (Charlotte) of Atlanta. Daughters, Shirley Nash-Pitts and Judy Armstrong (Jack) of Knoxville. Grandchildren, James Vineyard Jr. (Shirley), Stephen Nash (Susan), Michael Vineyard, Devin Armstrong (Nancy) all of Knoxville. Melanie Suzann Vineyard of Atlanta. Debbye Carraway (Grady) of South Carolina. Sandy Spires (Robert) of Atlanta. Greg Vineyard (Ginnie) of Louisville, Ky. James C. Vineyard of Knoxville, MA1 Kenneth Vineyard (Jamie), US Navy, Kuwait AE. Diane Vineyard of South Carolina. Sister, Naomi Sharp of Knoxville. Several nieces & nephews. 14 great grandchildren and 8 great-great grandchildren. The family would like to thank the staff at Hillcrest West for the excellent care given to their Mother. Funeral service 8 PM Thursday, Marbledale Baptist Church. Rev. Danny Neal, Rev. David Crowley officiating. Family & friends will meet at Asbury Cemetery at 11 AM Friday for interment. The family will receive friends 6-8 PM Thursday at Marbledale Baptist Church. Friends may also call at their convenience Wednesday at Mynatt’s Fountain City Chapel. |
